Motorcycle Season in the Black Hills

Motorcycle Season in the Black Hills

Summer may be ending, but the weather is still perfect for motorcycle riding. Fall is an excellent time to explore the Black Hills on your bike. The tourists have (mostly) left and it’s still warm outside.

Some of the best fall bike runs in the Black Hills include Needles Highway, Vanocker Canyon, Spearfish Canyon and Iron Mountain Road. You can also enjoy a lengthier ride out to Devil’s Tower or through the Badlands. Traffic slows down during the fall allowing for a more leisurely ride through our beautiful attractions. The prairie grasses are long and soon, the leaves will begin their color changes. We’ve been blessed these past several years with a respite from the pine beetle infestation, so the ponderosa pines of the Black Hills are dark evergreen as they should be.

Back to School

Back to School

It’s back-to-school season in the Black Hills, and the start of a new school year for your children. From your littlest ones heading off to their first day of kindergarten, to your high schoolers, this is a great time to schedule a chiropractic assessment for your kids!

Teen Girls and Menstruation

As part of our series on teen girls and their chiropractic needs, this blog is about menstruation. While a delicate subject, half of the planet is affected including our teen daughters and although every adolescent will experience their periods differently, chiropractic care can be an effective method of treatment.

Teen Girls and Sports

Teen Girls and Sports

Teen girls are an important part of our practice at Rushmore Family Chiropractic. Many of our adult patients have referred their adolescent sons and daughters to us. These patients will go on to become adult patients themselves, so it’s important that we address their needs, and help to create empowered young adults, capable of making important health care choices in the future.

Men’s Health Part 3

Men’s Health Part 3

In this ongoing series, we’ve been blogging about some of the health issues involved with different stages of a man’s life (including the transition into adulthood and their middle years). Now, let’s examine the issues dealing with aging for men.

Men’s Health Part 2

Men’s Health Part 2

The second transition in a man’s life is into their middle years. Middle-age comes at different ages for each man, but usually occurs within their 40s.

At this point in life, a man is likely experiencing some changes in their body, due to lifestyle and genetics. They’ve experienced more bumps, bruises, crashes and falls, as well and may be noticing some pain around the hips, spine or joints, as a result of an active life in when they were younger. They might be less strong, or less powerful, or heavier, than when they were just a few years younger.

Pregnancy and Chiropractic Part 3

Pregnancy and Chiropractic Part 3

This is our third blog in this ongoing series on chiropractic care before, during and after pregnancy. During this blog, we’re going to talk more about the birth experience and the post-partum stages that a new mom may expect, as well as chiropractic care for your newborn.

Pregnancy and Chiropractic Part 2

Pregnancy and Chiropractic Part 2

This is the second of our ongoing blog series on chiropractic care for pregnant moms. In the previous blog, we talked about how chiropractic care can impact women who are trying to conceive. Whether you are conceiving naturally or through fertility treatments, chiropractic care can support and aid this process by encouraging good spinal and central nervous system health, as well as reproductive well-being.
