Massage Therapist Carol Ann Runcik joined the team at Rushmore Family Chiropractic in 2018. She has twelve years of massage experience, on top of her vast medical training. The granddaughter of a military doctor and daughter of a nurse, healing has been in her background for several generations.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Carol Ann grew up an ‘Army brat’ traveling the United States. She became a resident of South Dakota as a young adult, where she raised her family. She has an adult daughter and son, along with two young grandchildren. Carol Ann has worked for many years at Rapid City Regional Hospital before training as a massage therapist. She started at the Hospital in 2000 as a patient care technician and ward secretary. She then worked in Human Resources for four years followed by a position in Neuro Surgery as an Office Coordinator. Carol Ann then became a Certified Hemodialysis Technician/Preceptor (CCHT) before attending Headlines Academy in Rapid City where she became a licensed L.M.T. massage therapist in 2006.
Carol Ann’s level of care and compassion is well known among hospital patients and her massage clients. She specializes in sports massage, treatment massage, prenatal, massage trigger point therapy and hot stone massage. She feels truly rewarded when someone in her care is able to find relief from pain.
When not at the hospital or Rushmore Family Chiropractic, Carol Ann and her fiancé Darrin enjoy camping, fishing, hiking and spending time with the family. Carol Ann is a Kansas City Chiefs fan and loves listening to country music and classic rock. She most admires the men in her life (including her father and fiancé) for inspiring her to work hard and have a strong, shining spirit.
