Be safe with those fireworks – and have a first aid kid handy for the little ones if they’ll be holding sparklers. The temperatures call for hot temperatures up to the mid-90s so it will be hot and dry. If you’re lighting any kind of fireworks in your neighborhood be sure to check on conditions before you start and have plenty of water close at hand. For information on city regulations for fireworks in Rapid, please go to http://www.pennco.org/fireworks. They have a handy guide on what is/isn’t permissible in and around Pennington County. Remember that we live in a part of the country that is always in danger of fires. Take every safety caution possible to protect yourselves, your children and your community during fireworks season.
Most of all, celebrate our freedom this and every day. Grab some South Dakota burgers or steaks, or head over to Dakota Seafood Company for the fixins for fresh lobster rolls. Have a happy and injury-free 4th of July!
